Vision of Zarina Shamim Scholarship Program (ZSSP) is to support girls to attain quality education and enable them to become enlightened and empowered women.

The girls for the scholarships are selected on their overall performance in the school. Following is the eligibility criteria for winning the scholarship:Following is the eligibility criteria for winning the scholarship:
- The scholarship award is given to student(s) on her ability and commitment to higher education, without any discrimination of religion, caste, creed, or social level.
- The scholarship award is only for the outgoing 10 th Class student(s) of Ala-ud- Din Academy – Girls High School (ALDA).
- The scholarship award is given only to those students who have an admission in a recognized government college / university of Pakistan.
- The scholarship award is evaluated on a combination of student’s merit / brilliance, commitment and financial need.
- The students are also assessed on the basis of;
- Academic Excellence
- Character Strength
- Integrity and Honesty
- Regularity
- Overall Behavior – inside and outside the class – with peers, fellow
students and teachers - Extra-Curricular Activities
- Leadership Abilities
- Volunteering in School Activities / Community Service
The Scholarship Selection Committee (SCC) writes down potential nominees /
names of the students from the outgoing 10 th Class.
The recommendation list is passed on to the Scholarship Management Committee (SMC). Two to three
members of the SMC interview the nominated students individually. Each member
of the SMC also fills an evaluation form separately for each candidate.
Once, all the interviews and evaluations are done then the SMC makes a final
decision on scholarship winners; based on their merit, personal commitment,
financial need and points obtained in the interview process.
Financial disbursements / payments to the Zarina Shamim Scholarship Program Winners are made on the fulfillment of following conditions:
- All scholarship holders are provided financial assistance if they have admission in a recognized government institution / college. The scholarship is valid for B.Sc (Hons), one M.A., M.Sc. degree and / or first Professional degree. The duration should not exceed, after Matric, more than six years for Masters’ degree and seven years for professional degree.
- This scholarship program only supports those scholars who meet the merit criteria of morning sessions for admission in academic institutions. ZSSP does not pay any additional fees etc., for evening or self-supporting academic programs.
- Any student, attending a private institution, is paid up to Rs. 25,000/- per year; payable in three installments depending on the fee challans issued by the private institution. In case of Professional degree (Science Subjects), payment is made up to Rs 25,000/- per semester.
- Books and Stationery Allowance of Rs. 3,000/- (three thousand only) per year or per semester is paid to each scholar.
- Each current scholar must provide a copy of the latest test / result card. The scholarship amount for next academic year / semester and onward is paid as and when the scholar submits her result to the school administration in Accounts Office of the School.
- A minimum of CGPA of 3.0 is necessary to maintain, for each scholar, to continue and receive the scholarship money.
- The minimum requirement for Medical (MBBS), Dental, Pharmacy and Nursing degrees, is to pass and to qualify for next semester / year. The passing percentage will be acceptable for continuation of the scholarship.
- All degrees related to Allied Health Sciences require 70% marks for the continuation of the scholarship and its disbursement.
- Degrees being offered in public / government universities other than their primary degrees; needs prior approval from Scholarship Management Committee. For example, University of Engineering & Technology (UET) 6 offering a Business / Management degree; a scholar wishing to join such a program needs prior approval.
- All Scholarship Winners must have a bank account. No cash payment or check is issued. The payment is only made via cross check. In case, the scholar is below the age of 18 years, a joint account should be opened with any one of the parents or elder siblings.
- If the student opens an account in Meezan Bank and deposits the check on the same day, then the scholarship check amount, in all probability, will be transferred on the same day.
- The ZSSP scholarship can be deferred if the student gets scholarship from another institution or from Government sponsored scholarships programs (Ehsaas scholarships etc.).
- In case of any fraudulent activity, in providing results or any other information, the scholarship gets terminated with immediate effect.
- Any change in the college / academic institution can only be allowed if the total marks are more than 80%. For example, if the student has 70% marks in I.Com and wants to move from Queen Mary College to Lahore College in B.Com, then, she will not be allowed to move to a more expensive educational institution.
- Any change(s) in the academic program or academic institution should be done after consultation with anyone of the three senior management people, i.e., Executive Director, Principal and Head of Senior Section.
- Management’s decision is considered final for the continuation of the scholarship.
- No transport allowance, or private services, are paid to any scholar.
- No allowance is paid for attending any preparatory tests, tuitions, tuition centers etc. Also, no allowance is paid for project and / or thesis materials.
- No financial support is provided for repeating a class to improve the grades. The scholarship discontinues if a student wants to repeat the class.
- Senior Management reserves the right of final decision in all related matters.

For School Education:
You can support by sponsoring a school student by donating:
- Rs. 5000/- (USD 30/-) per month. This includes tuition fee and stationery expenses.
- Rs. 7000/- (USD 40/-) per month. This includes tuition fee and books.
- Rs. 12000/- (USD 70/-) per month. This includes tuition fee, books, bag and two uniforms.
- Contributing any amount to Zarina Shamim Trust (ZST) for Scholarships Program to empower girls with education in school, college, and university education.
In College / University / Professional Education:
You can support by:
- Sponsoring a girl for college education by donating Rs. 25,000/- (USD 150/-) per month or Rs 300,000/- (USD 2000/-) per year. This includes tuition fee, books and stationery expenses.
- Initiating a scholarship in the name of someone whom you want to recognize and honor. This will be one-time payment. The money to start such a scholarship is Rs. 850,000/- (USD 5000/-)
- Contributing any amount to Zarina Shamim Trust (ZST) Scholarships Program to empower girls for education in school, college and university.

The scope of the scholarship is intended to help the students complete their college /
university / professional education in Pakistan. The student can study with this
scholarship till Masters’ Degree or completion of a professional degree.
The scholarship covers the college / university tuition fees and books. The
expenses are paid directly to the student at the submission of the fee bill / invoice.
Scholarships are given to students who join recognized government / public colleges
in the morning programs. The scholarship is not given for self-supporting programs.
In case of Private Institutions / Self Supporting Programs – scholarship holder
should consult SMC for approval.
If the student decides to go to the private college, then ZSSP will only pay up to Rs.
25,000/- per annum.
