Hina Tariq is an alumnus of the Zarina Shamim Scholarship Program (ZSSP) supported by Zarina Shamim Trust at Ala-ud-Din Academy Girls High Schoo (ALDA). She has also marked her name on ALDA’s Honor Board for the recognition of her outstanding performance. She belives, ZSSP has contributed a lot in achieving the goals and milstones of her career.
She is a tech entrepreneur and passionate about building a community of women by empowering them through tech education. She is an Electrical Engineer from Information Technology University (ITU) Punjab. She is currently working with CMACED, Superior University, Lahore as Global Community Manager. Her core responsibilities are, increase potential collaborations and partnerships at the international level by offering mutual benefits on boosting the entrepreneurial community around the globe. She has strong connections in Silicon Valley and its startup community along with a few angel investors, mentors, and trainers from well-known educational institutes in California, New York due to her previous work experience.
In the past 6 years, she got a chance to work with national international organizations i.e., SurveyAuto (as Business Development Manager), DIY SPACE (as Chief Strategy Officer), and Social Innovation Lab (Community and Social Media Manager). Moreover, she is associated with the Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation, MJF (US-based foundation) as a regional coordinator to empower the women maker community. She co-founded her first venture DIY Geeks in 2014 and worked as Chief Operating Officer. Her startup went on to raise a sum of $200,000 from Asha Jadeja Motwani, an active angel investor from Silicon Valley. She is also an alumnus of Pak-US Alumni Network, Plan9, PlanX, Amal Academy, and WIN (Women Innovation Network). In 2017, she was invited for the prestigious Rajeev Circle Fellowship, a three-week immersion program in Silicon Valley where she attended TiECon, Open SV, MakerFaire, and met numerous US-based companies to exchange ideas and knowledge. In addition to this, she was selected in the top 25 women entrepreneurs of Pakistan for sponsored program Tech Camp South Asia organized by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in Dubai, UAE. In 2018 and 2019, she also led 2 exchange programs aka “MJ Tech Women Program” to the United States for Tech Women Entrepreneurs supported by MJF. She aims to make this world a better place together.
