Winning Zarina Shamim Scholarship was one of the worth-mentioning achievements in my life. It always makes me feel confident about myself. At the scholarship receiving time with my mother, it has imprinted as a proud moment in the memories of my parents. This scholarship has built my network with amazing people and connected me with the people of vision.
Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Plant Biotechnology from Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE), at LUMS under the supervision of Dr. Khurram Bashir. Moreover, I have done research under the supervision of Dr. Uzma Qaiser by the title “Molecular Function of C2C2 GATA Transcription factor in drought resistance of cotton” during my M.Phil., at School of Biological Sciences (SBS), University of the Punjab, Lahore.
My passion for knowledge has incited me to have deep understanding of Islam and implementing it in the contemporary world of science. Alongside, I am working with Science fuse to develop love for science among kids.
My goal is to be one of the best females of Pakistan promoting STEM education for new generation. I would like to serve my country through my modern knowledge of Biochemistry fusing neurosciences and Islamic vision of connecting this world to feed humanity not the vanity and brutality.
Finally I want to mention here that Zarina Shamim Scholarship Program (ZSSP) is one the best companions during my whole journey that firmly holds me to smoothly reach the point where I am. It has made me strong enough to fulfill my goals without any financial burden. Being an eldest sibling in my family, this scholarship has made me independent and also a helping hand for others”.
